Delivery and Placement for Flooring Materials and Rugs

Not every flooring project requires professional installation. At Carpet Discount Warehouse, we offer carpet and rug delivery services for customers who are managing their own installation, working with a contractor, or simply need their flooring materials transported to their space without having to carry the weight. Whether you are a homeowner handling a DIY project, a contractor coordinating material drop-offs, or a business furnishing a commercial space with rugs, our delivery and placement services are designed to fit your needs. Carpet Discount Warehouse has operated from our 50,000 sq ft warehouse at 6100 E Independence Blvd in Charlotte since 1990, coordinating delivery and installation for homeowners, contractors, interior designers, and property managers throughout the Charlotte metro area.

Delivery and Placement vs. Installation: An Important Distinction

Before booking, it is important to understand what these services include and what they do not.

Delivery means transporting your selected flooring materials or rugs from our warehouse to your location. Placement means positioning rugs within a space; aligning them with furniture, room layout, and design intent. Neither service involves permanent attachment, adhesives, stretching, or any form of fixed installation.

Flooring materials such as carpet and luxury vinyl plank are delivered ready for your installer to handle. Rugs are delivered and positioned but are not secured to the floor. If you need permanent flooring installation, our professional carpet installation services are available separately. 

Delivery Service Options

Most contractors installing their own carpet pick materials up directly from our warehouse rather than scheduling delivery. Where delivery really comes into play is with rugs — and the vast majority of our rug delivery customers want it handled from start to finish. That's why our most-booked option includes moving furniture out of the way, rolling out the rug for proper placement, and putting furniture back once we're done. The only thing we ask customers to handle themselves is setting aside small or breakable items before we arrive.

To give you control over cost and convenience, we offer three levels of rug delivery service:

  • Delivery Drop-Off — We deliver the rug to your home or business; you roll it out and place it yourself.
  • Delivery with Placement — We roll out and position the rug for you. Furniture should already be moved out of the room before we arrive (or the room is empty).
  • Delivery with Furniture Moved and Placement — Our full-service option. We move furniture out, roll out and position the rug, then move furniture back into place. Just clear small or breakable items ahead of time.

Each tier is priced separately, so you can choose the level of service that fits your project and budget.

Flooring Material Delivery

Our carpet delivery service and LVP delivery option are designed for customers who want their materials transported directly to the job site without coordinating full installation through us. This is a practical choice for:

  • Homeowners managing a self-install project
  • Contractors who supply their own installation crews
  • Property managers overseeing multiple units with established installer relationships
  • Renovation projects where materials need to be staged and ready on-site before work begins

Because we stock thousands of carpet rolls and remnants in our Charlotte warehouse, most orders are ready for delivery within 3 to 7 days from initial inquiry, a turnaround that contractors and property managers on tight schedules consistently rely on.

Flooring material delivery includes transportation of your selected products to the specified location. Materials are handled with care to arrive in proper condition and ready for installation. It does not include subfloor preparation, cutting, seaming, stretching, adhesive work, or any other installation step.

Area Rug Delivery and Placement

Our rug delivery service covers both transportation and in-room placement for area rugs. Once your rug arrives, our team positions it within the space according to your furniture layout and room design. Placement is not permanent; rugs are not adhered, tacked, or otherwise fixed to the floor.

Area rug placement includes:

  • Delivery of the rug to the specified room or area within the property
  • Positioning the rug to align with furniture layout and room dimensions
  • Adjusting placement to ensure the rug sits evenly and is properly oriented within the space
  • An optional rug pad placement beneath the rug to reduce movement and protect the flooring underneath

This service works well for both residential and commercial environments across the Charlotte metro area. Carpet & Padding Installation

For customers ordering custom rugs, delivery and fitting are coordinated based on the approved specifications from your order.

Custom rugs are made to measure for specific spaces, and placement is carried out to match the intended layout and room design confirmed during the ordering process.

Custom rug delivery and fitting includes:

  • Delivery of the finished custom rug to the specified location
  • Placement within the space, based on the dimensions and layout confirmed at the time of order
  • Alignment with furniture, architectural features, or room boundaries as specified
  • Verification that the rug fits as expected before the delivery is complete

Carpet Discount Warehouse fabricates custom rugs in-house, typically within 3 to 7 days of inquiry, so delivery and fitting can often be scheduled within the same week for Charlotte-area customers.

As with standard area rug delivery, custom rug fitting is non-permanent. The rug is positioned but not attached to the floor. If adjustments are needed after initial placement, our team is available to discuss options.

What’s Not Included

To make sure expectations are clear from the start, the following are not part of our delivery and placement services:
Permanent flooring installation of any kind — no stretching, seaming, gluing, or nailing of carpet or LVP

  • Subfloor preparation or repair
  • Adhesive or tack strip installation for carpet
  • Removal or disposal of existing flooring
  • Furniture moving — the delivery area should be cleared before arrival
  • Cutting or trimming of flooring materials on-site
